Maocheng Li received his PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Prof. Lei Chen. He obtained his M.Phil. degree (supervised by Prof. Lionel Ni) and B.Sc. degree at HKUST as well. He joined the CSE department of HKUST in 2026, where he is currently a lecturer. His research topics are information, knowledge discovery and database privacy. His research interests include spatial crowdsourcing, differential privacy and secure multiparty computation. He has conducted research works in privacy-preserving location-based services applications, graphical convolutional neural networks, and others.
